OUR PASTOR: Edward Kissakye

I was born in 1983 in a small town called Mityana in Uganda, East-Africa. I was brought up by my mother Florence Namusisi and maternal grand mother Margret Mulungi. At the age of two years in 1985, my mother and grand mother surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. And at the age of six years in 1989, I too accepted Jesus to be my personal Lord and Savior. I became a very active participant and member of Sunday school in Mityana Miracle Centre Church, a church pastured by Pastor Johnson Makumbi. Sunday school impacted my life, that even though I was of a tender age, I used to always feel and experience the supernatural touch and presence of Jesus in my life and this always compelled me to weep and wail throughout the services. The journey of salvation hasn’t been an easy one. I have experienced very many ups and downs but it has taken me persistence, determination and focus to stand amidst all the terrible forces of negation.

My testimony

I have gone through many trial and sufferings; first of all I was rejected by my father till the age of thirteen in 1996, when my father accepted me as his son, but unfortunately he passed on in 1997. When my father died, I went and began staying with my maternal aunt but her husband rejected me and I went and stayed with my mother in a small wretched house so that I can concentrate and read my books for my final exams of O-Level. I read my books using a local candle that produces a lot of soot and I used to ride a bicycle eight miles to school and sometimes footed to school and back home when the bicycle had broke down. But glory to God when results came back I was among the top best in our school. In 2000 as I was joining high school, my pertanal aunt invited me to stay with her and during my stay with her; I was mistreated to the point of not allowing me to read my books for my final exams of A-Level and I used to walk seven miles to school and back. My aunt did every thing possible to ensure that I fail my A-Level exams but Jehovah God Most High fought for me and I excelled and was admitted in Makerere University on government sponsorship.

Through all these hardships I went through, I learnt how to trust and depend on God entirely and I thank God so much for having allowed me to go through those very terrible times because they have enabled me to know God more and more.

Hard times always draw us closer and closer to God. And it’s through the University of Hard Knocks that God trains his genuine servants for the great work ahead of them.

My call into the evangelistic ministry

While in high school in the year 2000 (Old Kampala Senior Secondary School), I was an active member of the scripture union fellowship and was appointed by the leading of the Holy Spirit to be the prayer secretary of the scripture union fellowship of the school.

In the same year 2000, while I was pleading and reasoning with God to save souls in my school,  Jesus visited me in my room and told me in these very clear words “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry. 2 Tim 4:5”. And from there I knew I was called into the evangelistic ministry and a very heavy burden for the lost souls was laid upon my heart until this day. Since that day I began evangelizing.

In the year 2004, in a trance, my spirit was removed from my body and carried into the heavenly realm. On reaching there, I stood before a very huge gate and the place was so beautiful beyond description and besides the huge gate was muscular and very tall angels and a table was at the entrance into the huge gate and books were lying on it. The Angels asked for my name and the Book of Life was opened and my name was found jotted in the Lambs Book of Life. One of the Angels told me that I had qualified to enter into the exceedingly beautiful city of God with great joy allover me I started on the journey of passing through the very huge gate. But as I was almost going through the gate, Jesus called me back at the entrance (I didn’t see Him when I arrived at the huge gate of heaven) and told me young man the task is still great, you have to go back on earth to accomplish the task (remember I was given this task of doing the work of an evangelist while in high school in the year 2000) and He promised me that if I faithfully finish the task, I will be brought back to that exact place of great beauty and joy. I tried to resist (because I didn’t want to leave the beautiful place to come back on earth) but Jesus told me that the time is extremely very short.

I know that currently I am living on earth to accomplish a great task which I received from my Lord Jesus Christ to testify to the Gospel of the grace of God.

BACKGROUND

Tower of Praise & Worship Centre (TPWC) was birthed by the Love Lives Predestined Ministries an end time Glory Carriers Evangelistic Army. The legal name of this congregation of believers shall be Love Live Predestined Church- Tower of Praise & Worship Centre. This body of believers exists for the purpose of restoring hope in the  lives of people, winning the lost souls and contributing towards community transformation and restoring hope in the lives of  the hopeless, assimilating them into the church through baptism, and teaching them to put into  practice the teachings of the Bible (Matthew 28:19-20). We are to be committed to this mission in our community and in our World until our Lord returns (Acts 1:6-8). The church accomplishes this mission as each believer is committed to serving in the church (Ephesians 4:11-16), living godly in the world (Titus 2:11-12), and sharing Christ with unbelievers (II Corinthians 4:1-16).
